Susie Calvert is a painter based in South East London, originally from Belfast.

She studied at Camberwell College of Arts before immersing herself in the Drawing Intensive Term at the Royal Drawing School in 2020.

Her work explores the contrasts between the inner and outer spaces she inhabits — from the rugged Irish coastline to the dynamic urban landscape of London. Through this, she delves into the human relationship with colour, space, and play, constantly balancing the tension between structure and spontaneity.

Susie credits her practices in yoga and reiki for shaping her intuitive approach to mark-making, allowing her to embrace the unexpected harmonies that emerge in her paintings.

Her work has recently been exhibited at the Horsebridge Art Centre, The Copper Beech, and The Southwark Open.
